  Although details are sketchy and the effects uncertain, Air Force Materiel Command plans to launch what it calls a "streamlined supply chain management process" next year that promises to bring improved logistics support to the war fighter and potentially sweeping changes to Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and Robins Air Force Base.

  "In short," said AFMC spokeswoman JoAnne Rumple in a written response to questions posed by The Telegraph, "the Air Force enterprise is completely rethinking the way it does logistics to support the expeditionary requirements of the Air Force and the chief of staff's priorities."

  The focus of the new approach will be a centralized Global Logistics Support Center at an as yet unidentified location. The GLSC will plan, command and control logistics resources among weapon systems across the Air Force, including the purchase of spare parts and the repair of components.
